The haiku titles in my response to
Wisdom ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #124
stretch the word. Another response stretches it similarly.
After the leaves have fallen in a wooded area, the good news is that we get a relatively unobstructed view of the tree trunks and branches. The bad news is that it is not clear which of the trees are alive.
With one exception, all the trees and branches shown in this post are alive.
Wisdom in Wood #1
Singing silent songs
of injury and healing,
trees refuse to quit.
Wisdom in Wood #2
Never die?
No, the choice is to
never quit.
(BTW, the [Menu] button atop the vertical black bar reveals the widgets.)
Your photos are most expressive, perfectly combined with the two Haikus — an invitation to reflect on wisdom.

Your own wisdom has many living branches. I hope you’ll choose to never quit sharing them with us.

Trees are incredible, I agree. They carry great wisdom and I’m finding they seem to communicating some of that wisdom to us very powerfully at the moment.

Mmmmmm…. One can die without dying, but one never dies before quitting. True wisdom. And a lovely metaphor — visual and literary — you’ve found in the trees. Wonderful post!

So glad U like it. When I belatedly got around to winnowing (and lightly editing) the photos I had taken, it was a pleasant surprise to find that text and pix could form a narrative arc.

Yep. I too am constantly amazed how generously a photograph offers up its thousand words. Using pix for literary inspiration has been a boon to my writing. =)
