Such marvelous lighting. Of course it caught your artistic eye. The brilliant phrase, “exhale leaves in spring” evokes the immediacy of a living tree.

Thanks. Glad U liked the combination. When I wrote an early version of the haiku a few yrs ago, I was happy with the metaphor but unhappy with all my ideas for images. When I looked out the window a few days ago, I saw a rare combination of still air and chiaroscuro morning light, which happened to illuminate a young maple leafing out.
