The red fruit of this wild cherry tree will bribe birds to spread its seeds. There is another tale to tell here, with another color.
This tree has thousands of dark green leaves and hundreds that are light green. It has just one leaf with a patchwork of light and dark, visible in the lower left of the image. Hmmm. Let’s look closer.
Pollinators and seed spreaders are not all the critters the tree feeds.

Very tricky. It certainly looks like they’re growing from the same stem.
