I glanced down and broke stride just in time to avoid stepping on this snake, then took some photos. I was briefly puzzled that the snake seemed to have chosen dappled sun for basking when full sun was available, but the whole driveway may well have been in dappled sun when the snake chose a spot earlier in the morning. It’s more fun to imagine that the snake had to rethink choosing looks over practicality.

The initial response (views and likes) looks typical enough for my haiga posts. I guess none of my stuff has much click bait, but that is OK. Nobody pays me for clicks anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

WP had a glitch the first time I clicked: it wanted me to sign up for e-mails only, rather than following on Reader. Clicked again a few minutes ago and got the expected behavior: following on Reader (plus the e-mail notifications I also like to get).
